Ms. Veena Verma founded Birsa Seva Sansthan in 1991 with with a bold vision to promote social justice, equity, and women empowerment.
A passionate social activist, whistleblower, and changemaker, she dedicated her life to uniting people for meaningful transformation and justice especially in the tribal heartland of Chotanagpur, now Jharkhand.
She has been relentlessly engage in social service from last half a century, over five decades. Alongside her social activism, she was also an accomplished entrepreneur and educationist, awarded the Gold Medal at the Transworld Trade Fair in the 1980s for her contributions to women entrepreneurship.
She has served as a member of the Social Welfare Advisory Board (Bihar), an honorary member of the Governing Body of RINPAS Ranchi, and a board member in various judicial and social development programs in Jharkhand. Her enduring leadership, vision, and commitment continue to shape and guide the mission of Birsa Seva Sansthan.
